Texas A&M University is located in College Station, Texas.
Together with its neighbor city, Bryan, the Bryan/College Station
area is a vital community of more than 130,000 people.
The community offers many amenities of a metropolitan area
in a more relaxed, college-town atmosphere. The cost of living in B/CS
is comparatively low.
The climate is conducive to outdoor recreation activities year-round.
Persons interested in organized biking, rock-climbing, running,
and other sports will enjoy the area. The University has a state-of-the-art
recreational sports complex for student use and a complete schedule of
Big 12 Conference collegiate sporting events. A variety of cultural
activities, including ballet, classical music, and jazz, are organized
by the University. The community offers a comfortable quality of life
without the attendant problems of congested urban areas.
If there is something you cannot find here, Houston is only an hour
and 15-minute drive away. The state capital of Austin, with its
renowned live music scene, is less than 2 hours to the west,
and the historic Gulf Coast town of Galveston is about
2 hours to the south. The Dallas/Forth Worth metroplex
and San Antonio are also within easy driving distance (approximately
3 hours). Geographically, Bryan/College Station lies at the center
of a triangle connecting Houston, Dallas, and Austin. |
